Jamie Redknapp thinks that the Football Association should act quickly and offer his father, Harry Redknapp, the England manager's job.

The 38-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder is concerned that no decision on Fabio Capello's replacement has been made with the start of Euro 2012 only 50 days away.

He told The Sun: "The public want him. I am his son and will support him.

"If England ask, he'd think about it. But at the moment, no-one at the FA is being pro-active. It is not long to the Euros and we haven't got a manager."

FA chief executive Alex Horne has defended the delayed appointment, saying "we know exactly what we're doing".
