Southampton's bid for striker Graziano Pelle reportedly fails to meet the asking price of Feyenoord.

Southampton's bid for Feyenoord striker Graziano Pelle is reportedly short of the Dutch club's valuation.

The Premier League side are said to have lodged an offer for the Italian, who is seen by new manager Ronald Koeman as a replacement for Rickie Lambert.

According to Sky Sports News, the Saints have now made an official offer, but the figure is believed to be below Feyenoord's €12m (£9.5m) valuation.

Pelle has scored 50 goals for the club.
