Report: Southampton line up Charlie Austin move

A report suggests that Southampton are readying a summer move to sign striker Charlie Austin from Queens Park Rangers.

Southampton are poised to move for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin in the summer, according to a report.

The 25-year-old has been in impressive form for the R's this season as he has scored 17 times in the Premier League despite the club's struggles.

The Saints are ready to pursue Austin in the summer to bolster their frontline in a £10m deal, but will also face competition from Newcastle United for the striker's signature, claims The Mirror.

Reports have suggested that Austin will be called into the England squad for their matches against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia in June due to his form in the top flight this season.
