Southampton manager Nigel Adkins is adamant that he will not let Luke Shaw leave the club this summer.

Nigel Adkins has insisted that he has no intention of letting Luke Shaw leave Southampton this summer.

The 16-year-old has recently been linked with a move to Chelsea, while the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal are said to be extremely interested in the full-back.

However, Adkins is adamant that the teenager will not be departing the St Mary's Stadium.

"Luke Shaw is a big part of our future plans," Adkins told the Daily Star. "We have got no intention, believe you me, of letting any of our young players move on.

"We want them in the first team in the Premier League, playing for Southampton Football Club."

Shaw made his senior debut for the Saints in January of this year.
