Jason Puncheon believes that Southampton teammate Rickie Lambert does not get enough credit for his all-round game.

Jason Puncheon has insisted that there is more to Southampton teammate Rickie Lambert's game than just goals.

The striker has thrived during his first season in the top flight, netting 14 times to become the highest-scoring Englishman in the Premier League.

However, Puncheon believes that Lambert does not get enough credit for his all-round game.

"There is so much more to his game than goals," Puncheon told Sky Sports News. "A lot of people don't realise he is a fabulous footballer too.

"He's got great feet, excellent movement and reads the game really well. He's not just a targetman, he's a very intelligent player."

Lambert recently signed a three-year contract extension with Southampton.
