Liam Lawrence signs with Shrewsbury Town

Shrewsbury Town seal the signing of former Stoke City and Portsmouth midfielder Liam Lawrence on a two-year deal.

Midfielder Liam Lawrence has signed a two-year deal with Shrewsbury Town.

The former Republic of Ireland international moves to the League Two side after being released by Barnsley at the end of last season.

Lawrence had previously spent 18 months in Greece with PAOK Salonika, but the 32-year-old has made the decision to remain in England until 2016.

Shrewsbury suffered relegation to the fourth tier of English football in the last campaign after finishing in 23rd position in League One.
