Sheffield Wednesday draw with Ipswich Town

Sheffield Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town leaves them still without a league win this season.

Sheffield Wednesday are still yet to win in the Championship this season, having drawn 1-1 with Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The Suffolk club got into their stride quickly when Ryan Tunnicliffe's pass beat several defenders to find forward David McGoldrick, who laid the ball for Paul Anderson to score.

However, their lead did not last long after Atdhe Nuhiu's header was bundled home by Michail Antonio to level the game for Wednesday, who started the game in the bottom three of the Championship.

Cole Skuse nearly put the visitors back in front when his thunderous shot beat Chris Kirkland in the Wednesday goal but hit the inside of the post.

Just before half time, the Owls had their best chance to lead when Matty Fryatt was played in on goal with only keeper Dean Gurken to beat, but Gerken was able to tip the shot over the bar.

Ipswich started the second half much the better with Chris Kirkland called into action on a number of occasions, while Dave Jones's charges provided little in terms of attacking threat.

Daryl Murphy tried to add to his brace at Derby County with a low drive that the former Liverpool keeper was equal to.

But despite Ipswich starting the brighter of the two teams, it was Wednesday who almost sealed the points late on with Jermaine Johnson's shot from 30 yards rocketing back of the bar.

In the end, it was a sixth draw of the season for the Yorkshire club and leaves them firmly in the relegation places, while Ipswich are 11th in the Championship without an away win so far.
