Senegal international Modou Sougou has admitted that he is "really enjoying" life at new club Sheffield Wednesday.
The 30-year-old joined the Owls on a free contract earlier this month after leaving Marseille.
Sougou has made an instant impact at Hillsborough, scoring two goals in his first three appearances for the Yorkshire outfit, and insists that he is grateful to be given the chance to compete in English football.
Speaking to BBC Sport, the rejuvenated winger said: "I'm 30 and the opportunity to play in England doesn't knock on your door very often.
"Sheffield Wednesday presented me with a great chance to come [to get regular football], and I'm settling in well and really enjoying it. Just three weeks here and I found the Championship standard impressive and the tempo incredible.
"I like the Championship because all the games are open and all the teams want to win. The intensity is good for the teams and the players, and this reality is why I came to Sheffield. Personally to play in England is one big privilege and I am very lucky to be here."
Sougou featured 25 times on loan at Ligue 1 side Evian TG last season.
