Scotland boss Gordon Strachan looking to strike balance against England

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan admits that he is keen to "find the right balance" when it comes to choosing his team for the upcoming friendly with England.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has admitted that he needs to strike a balance between youth and competitiveness when selecting his side for Tuesday's friendly with England.

The Scots welcome England to Celtic Park tomorrow night having enjoyed an upturn in fortunes in recent weeks.

The Tartan Army come into the match on a three-game unbeaten run, but Strachan has claimed that he is facing a dilemma when it comes to choosing his starting XI.

"I would love to give everybody the experience of playing in the game, but I want to win the game as well," the 57-year-old told reporters. "We want to compete, and make it as difficult as possible for other teams.

"I have got to balance winning and looking after the squad, there are some players who have been without the touch of a competitive ball. It's tough to make it work. I want to make them feel part of the squad, but I have to find the right balance."

England travel to Glasgow having won their last five matches in all competitions.
