Andrew Robertson: 'Scotland never got going against England'

Scotland defender Andrew Robertson admits that his team did not do enough to trouble England during their friendly defeat at Celtic Park.

Scotland defender Andrew Robertson has admitted that the team failed to live up to their potential during Tuesday's defeat to England.

The Scots were beaten 3-1 in last night's friendly at Celtic Park as the Three Lions left Glasgow with the bragging rights.

Robertson scored his first international goal late on to set up a nervy finish for the visitors, but the full-back believes that Scotland did not do enough to trouble their opponents.

"It was a tough match for us but we never really got going while England were on top of their game," he told Sky Sports News. "If we had got going we may have caused them problems.

"England have players from the top four teams in the Premier League throughout their side, we only had two or three from the division but that's not the issue. We just didn't play as well as we could have."

Scotland return to action in March 2015 when they host Gibraltar in Euro 2016 qualifying.
