Ipswich's Daryl Murphy gets the nod ahead of Shane Long and Robbie Keane to lead the Republic of Ireland attack in their Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland.

Daryl Murphy will lead the Republic of Ireland attack in this afternoon's vital Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland.

The Ipswich Town man has been chosen ahead of Shane Long and Robbie Keane, both of whom have been named among the substitutes.

Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has also named Derby County midfielder Jeff Hendrick and veteran goalkeeper Shay Given in his starting XI.

Matt Ritchie and Craig Forsyth will start for Scotland, along with Celtic's versatile defender Charlie Mulgrew.

Darren Fletcher will start the afternoon on the bench, as will Andy Robertson and Ikechi Anya.
