Stuart McCall: 'Scotland places up for grabs'

Scotland coach Stuart McCall suggests that there are still places up for grabs in the team to face Georgia in their Euro 2016 qualifier.

Scotland coach Stuart McCall has suggested that the team to face Georgia in Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier has not yet been fully decided.

Scotland currently sit third in Group D, just three points off leaders Poland going into their international double-header against Georgia and Germany.

With the latter just one place and two points above them in the group, there have been suggestions that Gordon Strachan's men could have one eye on the match against the world champions, but McCall insists that they are fully focused on beating Georgia.

"I think we probably have about eight or nine players there. There are one or two positions that might get changed. The good thing now is we have really good, strong options looking ahead," he told reporters.

"The team will be selected solely on this one-off game. It's too big to start thinking about Germany. At the beginning of the campaign, I think anyone thought whatever you take off Germany would be a bonus. But it hasn't seemed to be the case now because they have had a little bit of a stutter.

"But first and foremost we go to Georgia, select a team we think we can win, and then coming back on the long journey we will look towards the Germany game."

Scotland have not reached the finals of a major tournament since the World Cup in 1998.
