Atsuto Uchida insists that he enjoys playing for Schalke in the Bundesliga.

Schalke defender Atsuto Uchida has said that he loves playing in the Bundesliga.

The Japan international right-back joined the German club from Kashima Antlers in 2010.

"I just love playing here," he told Bundesliga.com. "I've just settled in so well, and really feel good playing my part in this team. That's how I can continue to develop. I've developed very close friendships with some players, like Julian [Draxler] for example.

"If you're a professional footballer, you just have to love playing in this stadium (the Veltins Arena). The atmosphere, the passion of the supporters and the reception you get when you jog on to the pitch are all so unique."

Schalke are currently fifth in the Bundesliga with 39 points from 26 matches.
