Rotherham United began their pre-season preparations with a 6-0 hammering of non-League side Parkgate this evening.

Emmanuel Ledesma opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes when he drove a left-footed effort into the corner.

Five minutes later, there was confusion when the referee sent off Parkgate's Ben Langford for deliberate handball before being allowed back on the field.

However, Paul Green made sure that the reprieve was short-lived as he netted from the penalty spot, and Grant Ward made it 3-0 before the hour mark.

Danny Ward scored the Millers' fourth on 66 minutes before a goalkeeping error gave Jerry Yates a goal shortly after.

Yates then grabbed his second when he met a cross from Joe Mattock in the closing stages.
