Steve Evans praises Rotherham United character after win over Millwall

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans hails his side's fighting spirit after they come from behind to beat Millwall in the Championship.

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has praised his side's character following their 2-1 victory over Millwall.

The Millers eased their relegation worries in the Championship on Saturday as they turned around a half-time deficit to beat the Lions at the New York Stadium.

Rotherham, who had failed to win any of their previous four games, are now six points clear of the relegation zone.

"It was a lot of character shown," Evans told BBC Sport. "We got them in at half time and they were feeling a little bit sorry for themselves. I told them to relax and that I'd stand in front of them whatever happened.

"It helps when we get the early goal but it would have been a travesty if we don't win the game because we have laid siege to their goal."

Evans's team continue their league campaign on Tuesday when they entertain Cardiff City.
