Iago Falque targets Serie A title

Spanish winger Iago Falque says that Roma can "compete with anyone" following his recent move to the Giallorossi.

New Roma signing Iago Falque has said that the club are capable of challenging Juventus for the Serie A title next season.

The 25-year-old completed his move to the Giallorossi last week, after an impressive season with Genoa in which he scored 13 league goals.

He has arrived at a club who have finished second behind Juventus in the Italian top flight for the past two seasons, but he is confident that they have the quality needed to end the Bianconeri's stranglehold on the Scudetto.

"We've been second for two years," Falque told reporters. "We're working to reach Juventus. When you look at a team like Roma, you know it's going to be passionate, and a place where you have to do well.

"I want to win. I also want to play well, of course, but I want to win. A team like Roma can always aim higher.

"We have to look at ourselves, to continue on our path and move forward. What the others do is not a problem. We have a big squad, and other players will come. We have a team which can compete with anyone."

Falque, who played for Real Madrid and Barcelona's youth teams, has also enjoyed spells at Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
