How Real Madrid could line up against Real Valladolid

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Sunday's La Liga clash with Real Valladolid.

Real Madrid will resume their 2019-20 La Liga campaign on Sunday night with a trip to Real Valladolid.

Los Blancos advanced in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Unionistas de Salamanca, while they have also won their last two in the league against Getafe and Sevilla.

As it stands, Zinedine Zidane's side are level on points with Barcelona at the top of the table, only behind the reigning champions on goal difference heading into the next set of fixtures.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Madrid could line up when they travel to the Estadio Jose Zorrilla.

POSS RM XI vs. VAL

Out: Dani Carvajal (suspension), Marco Asensio (knee), Eden Hazard (ankle), Gareth Bale (ankle)
Doubtful: Sergio Ramos (ankle)

Madrid will again be without the services of long-term absentees Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard through injury, while Dani Carvajal will be unavailable through suspension.

As a result, Nacho could come into the side at right-back, while there is also expected to be another starting role for Eder Militao in central defence with skipper Sergio Ramos, who is carrying an ankle injury, unlikely to be risked ahead of the derby against Atletico Madrid next weekend.

Gareth Bale has also been ruled out with the ankle injury that he picked up in Wednesday's Copa del Rey clash, meaning that Lucas Vazquez and Rodrygo Goes could join Karim Benzema in the final third.

Zidane has a decision to make in midfield with Federico Valverde available once again following a ban, and the Uruguay international could be handed a starting role ahead of Luka Modric.

Ferland Mendy should also edge out Marcelo to start at left-back, while Thibaut Courtois will return between the sticks having been left out against Unionistas.
