Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has claimed that Atletico Madrid are his club's main title rivals in La Liga this season.
Over the years, Barca and Real Madrid have dominated Spanish football, but Atletico bucked that trend by winning their first La Liga title since 1996 last term.
When questioned on Barcelona's main rivals for this season, Bartomeu placed Atletico above Real Madrid, who have already lost twice in the league this season.
"The opponent to beat is Atletico Madrid," he told RMC.
Barcelona and Real Madrid had an identical record in La Liga last season, with both teams collecting 87 points from 38 games to sit second and third respectively.
