Gareth Bale returns to Real Madrid training

Gareth Bale returns to Real Madrid training ahead of their Champions League meeting with city rivals Atletico Madrid next week.

Gareth Bale has returned to Real Madrid training after missing Saturday's 3-0 win over Eibar through injury.

The world's most expensive player sustained a muscle injury earlier this week and played no part in Saturday's win, but the Wales international is now preparing to be part of Los Blancos' Champions League quarter-final tie with city rivals Atletico Madrid next week.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Bale joined the group for a session where Carlo Ancelotti did not train out on the pitch with the players who started in yesterday's thrashing against Eibar."

"We head into the Champions League in good form and with the full squad available," coach Ancelotti told reporters after the game.

Madrid are currently second in La Liga.
