Cristiano Ronaldo scores near the end of the first half to draw Real Madrid level against Real Zaragoze.

A late first-half Cristiano Ronaldo goal has seen Real Madrid go in level with Real Zaragoza at the break.

It was a quiet opening but the game came to life in the sixth minute as Rodri finished well from an Apono pass to put the hosts ahead.

It took 28 minutes for a really good Real chance as Luka Modric whipped in a dangerous free kick, but it was scrambled clear by a dogged home defence.

A few minutes later Gonzalo Higuain fluffed his lines after doing well to get into the box, but five minutes before the break Real were level.

Higuain found Ronaldo in the box and he slammed in the equaliser from close range.
