Half-Time Report: No goals in Espanyol, Real Madrid clash

It is goalless at half time between Espanyol and Real Madrid in La Liga.

Espanyol are drawing 0-0 with Real Madrid at half time in their La Liga match this evening.

The home side had a great chance to go ahead with five minutes gone. Victor Sanchez sent in a low cross, which Christian Stuani headed just wide of the post.

Madrid's first chance fell to Karim Benzema. The Frenchman met a deep cross from Angel di Maria, but his effort was hooked wide of the post.

It could have been 1-0 to the away team 10 minutes later, but poor finishing let them down. Benzema rolled a low cross to Cristiano Ronaldo, who sliced his shot wide when any decent touch would have taken it in.

Espanyol were immediately back on the attack, however. Jhon Cordoba drove into the Madrid box before brushing off the challenge of Pepe, but, with space to shoot, he blasted the ball over the bar.

The chances continued to come and Francisco Casilla had to push Ronaldo's shot over the bar, before Di Maria failed to find a teammate with Espanyol outnumbered at the back.
