Xabi Alonso and Mesut Ozil have also been put on the bench by coach Jose Mourinho ahead of Tuesday's vital Champions League encounter with Manchester United.

Barcelona have made four changes in total as Victor Valdes, Javier Mascherano, Thiago and David Silva all come into the side following Tuesday's defeat to Madrid in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey.
