Reading captain Sean Morrison has revealed that he is delighted by the club's start to the Championship season.
The Royals are currently in fifth place in the table after just two defeats from their first 13 matches.
Despite insisting that there is still room for improvement, Morrison admits that it has been a positive opening for the team.
"It's been a very solid start," he told Sky Sports News. "We should probably have a few more points than we do, but it's been one of the best starts we've had in a long time.
"We're optimistic. You know what it's like with this league so as long as we stay in the pack for most of the season, anything can happen."
Reading continue their promotion push on Saturday when they travel to bottom-placed Sheffield Wednesday.
