Paco Jemez delighted with three points

Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez says that he was "very satisfied" with his side's 1-0 win over Almeria at the weekend.

Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez has revealed his delight at his side's 1-0 win over Almeria at the weekend.

A free kick from Alex Galvez secured all the points for the capital outfit, moving Rayo away from the relegation zone in La Liga in the process.

"We can look to the future with optimism. We were solely lacking in wins. But after two straight wins it's time for our season to take off," he told reporters at a press conference.

"It was a very open game – one in which both teams had the opportunity to score. But I thought we looked like the most likely to win, and I'm very satisfied with the three points."

Rayo finished eighth in the league last season.
