Burnley: 'No Danny Ings January sale'

Burnley chief executive Lee Hoos insists that the Clarets will not sell star striker Danny Ings this month.

Burnley will not sell prolific striker Danny Ings this month, chief executive Lee Hoos has insisted.

England Under-21 international Ings has had a breakout season with the Clarets in 2013-14, scoring 15 Championship goals in 26 appearances for Sean Dyche's side.

This has brought about reports of a move to the Premier League but Hoos is certain that the Lancashire club will be hang on to him, for the second half of the season at least.

"I'm pretty confident. We've no desire to sell him," Hoos told BBC Radio Lancashire.

Hoos did, however, concede that if Burnley don't achieve promotion to the Premier League then they might have to reconsider their stubborn position.

"A lot of things could change in the summer," he added. "Danny's just happy playing football here and I don't want to do anything to distract him. Let's see what happens between now and the end of the season."

After topping the table for much of the first half of the season, Burnley are now 11 points adrift of league leaders Leicester City after four wins in their last 14 matches.
