Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy is reportedly one of seven interested parties considering a takeover of Rangers.
The owner of the Rugby Union club is believed to be in talks with the Scottish club's administrators over a possible buyout of the club, according to Sky Sports News.
An original deadline for potential buyers was March 16 but the club's administrators recently claimed that they will be accelerating the sale of the SPL champions.
Meanwhile, members of the senior squad including skipper Steven Davis, Steven Whittaker, Allan McGregor and Steven Naismith have all reportedly taken 75% wage cuts.
