Rangers go out 4-3 on penalties to Queen of the South in a shock Scottish Challenge Cup result at Ibrox.

Queen of the South have pulled off a shock penalty-shootout victory over Rangers in the Scottish Challenge Cup this evening.

After a goalless first period, Nick Clark headed the Second Division side into the lead shortly after the interval, but Barrie McKay equalised soon after.

Rangers were reduced to ten men when Kevin Kyle was dismissed for an elbow, but Lee McCulloch put the Division Three side ahead from the penalty spot.

The Ibrox club looked set for victory when Willie Gibson was also shown a red card, but Gavin Reilly levelled with seconds remaining in normal time.

No further goals were added in extra time and Ryan McGuffie scored the decisive penalty to give Queens a 4-3 shootout triumph in front of a record crowd for the competition.
