Rangers boss Ally McCoist rues missed chances

Rangers boss Ally McCoist insists that his side created enough chances to deserve a victory against Alloa Athletic in their Scottish Championship draw.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has expressed his frustration following his side's 1-1 draw with Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship.

The Gers boss admitted that his team did not play particularly well during the match, but insists that they created enough chances to win the game.

"We're obviously very disappointed. It was a game where we felt we didn't play particularly well but we certainly created enough good chances to win the game," McCoist told the club's official website.

"The boys were saying first half they felt there was a stonewall penalty, we've had a goal disallowed for offside which we'll have to have a look at again. We've also had two great chances, Boydy [Kris Boyd] and Temps' [David Templeton] header.

"That was all in the first half but you've got to be honest and look at the game overall and we didn't play particularly well."

The result means that Rangers have failed to close the gap on league leaders Hearts, who can move six points clear if they defeat Falkirk in Saturday's late kick-off.
