Queens Park Rangers recall Max Ehmer from his loan spell at Carlisle United to provide cover for the injured Danny Simpson.

Queens Park Rangers have recalled Max Ehmer from his loan spell at Carlisle United after it was revealed that Danny Simpson would be out injured for a "few weeks".

Rangers revealed today that Simpson has suffered a small fracture in his back, resulting in the return of 21-year-old Ehmer.

"It's a big blow," QPR boss Harry Redknapp told the club's official website.

"Danny has played every game for us this season but he's picked up a back problem in recent weeks and it's got worse."

Ehmer made 12 starts for Carlisle in League One since joining in November, scoring one goal for the Cumbrians.
