Christopher Samba hopes that Queens Park Rangers spend his £12m transfer fee wisely following his return to Anzhi Makhachkala.

Christopher Samba has urged Queens Park Rangers to spend his transfer fee wisely following his return to Anzhi Makhachkala.

The 29-year-old recently completed a £12m switch back to Russia having arrived at Loftus Road in January.

"Rangers already have a great squad, but it's true that with the money they've got, I hope they do some smart recruitment to get the players they need to face the battle for promotion," Samba told The Mirror.

QPR start the new Championship campaign at home to Sheffield Wednesday on August 17.
