Team News: Eduardo Vargas makes first Queens Park Rangers start

Chile international Eduardo Vargas makes his first start for Queens Park Rangers against Stoke City.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has handed a first start to summer signing Eduardo Vargas in this afternoon's clash against Stoke City at Loftus Road.

The 24-year-old made his R's debut from the bench away at Manchester United last weekend, but having scored for the development side during the week, he will now partner Charlie Austin up front.

Elsewhere, midfielders Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch have been recalled following injuries, but Sandro is sidelined with a muscular complaint.

As for visiting Stoke, Mark Hughes has dropped Bojan and Jonathan Walters, with Mame Biram Diouf and Charlie Adam coming into the team.

QPR: Green; Isla, Caulker, Ferdinand, Traore; Mutch, Barton, Fer; Kranjcar; Vargas, Austin

Stoke: Begovic; Bardsley, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters; Whelan, Nzonzi; Diouf, Adam, Moses; Crouch
