£10.8m summer signing Sadio Mane overcomes work permit issues to make his Premier League debut against Queens Park Rangers.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has given £10.8m summer signing Sadio Mane his Premier League debut against Queens Park Rangers this afternoon.

The 22-year-old, who had been waiting since the end of August for his work permit to be finalised, won the penalty which led to Southampton's equaliser in their League Cup victory over Arsenal on Tuesday.

Sandro starts in midfield for QPR after reports suggested that he injured his knee while celebrating a goal during training earlier this week.

The visitors have won just once in their first five matches in the league this season.
