QPR boss Chris Ramsey: 'We need to start player recruitment immediately'

Queens Park Rangers boss Chris Ramsey says that the club need to begin their transfer business as early as Monday.

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has revealed that the club will begin outlining their transfer business "immediately".

The West London outfit will play in the Championship next season and the futures of first-team members, including Charlie Austin and Joey Barton, are in doubt.

The club's final top-flight game is away to Leicester City on Sunday, and Ramsey has insisted that the focus will switch to transfers on Monday.

"We know we only have a short period of time to make some decisions," Ramsey said in this morning's press conference. "I think that there's a compulsory list that has to be handed in in the next 10 days. Our recruitment drive has to start almost immediately - it has to start on Monday.

"Before you know it, pre-season will start and we won't have a squad. There's always a wishlist, you look at players and think this one will do a job, and someone else will be better going elsewhere. You have to take into consideration what contracts are in place."

Ramsey was appointed as QPR's permanent manager on Tuesday.
