Chris Ramsey: 'Queens Park Rangers players owe supporters'

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey warns Newcastle United not to expect an easy game this weekend when they take on his already-relegated side.

Chris Ramsey has insisted that each and every Queens Park Rangers player owes it to the club's fanbase to end the campaign on a high.

The R's saw their Premier League fate sealed last weekend when a 6-0 thrashing at Manchester City brought an end to their one-year stay in the top flight.

QPR still have two more games to play before the season's end, including the visit of Newcastle United on Saturday, which Ramsey hopes his squad can use to push on and provide some hope for the future.

"We won't be letting Newcastle off this weekend," he told reporters. "We'll pick our strongest possible side. We have pride ourselves. We owe it to the supporters to put on a positive performance. We need to give everything in our final two games."

Asked to elaborate on captain Joey Barton's claims that "bad eggs" in the group were to blame for the Hoops' relegation, Ramsey added: "There have been some issues but we dealt with them at the time.

"Unfortunately these things happen in football and our dirty laundry has come out. We have dealt with the situation and will draw a line underneath it and move on."

QPR see out their season with a trip to take on Leicester City.
