Morocco have not selected Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt has been left out of the Morocco squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 23-year-old was expected to be selected by his national team after a series of impressive performances for Queens Park Rangers.

However, Taarabt will not get the opportunity to add to his 15 international caps after he was not selected for next month's tournament.

The news will come as a boost to Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp after he had asked Taarabt to miss the competition to help the Hoops move away from the Premier League relegation zone.
