Preview: Paris Saint-Germain vs. Nice

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Ligue 1 match between defending champions Paris Saint-Germain and Nice.

A victory over Nice this weekend will keep Paris Saint-Germain hot on the heels of Ligue 1 leaders Marseille.

Laurent Blanc's men reside just one point above their rivals, and despite moving to the top of the standings with a 3-2 triumph over Metz last Friday, PSG have been pushed back.

Marseille's win over Bordeaux secured their place back in the number one spot, but PSG will hope that they can slip up against Nantes tomorrow.

Blanc's side, who won the league title last season, are unbeaten so far in the current campaign and head into this weekend's encounter on the back of a 3-1 victory over Ajax in the Champions League group phase.

For the visitors, Nice are 11th in the league standings after winning just five matches in 14 and have not grabbed a victory at all this month.

PSG are leading the head-to-heads between the two sides in comfortable fashion, having scooped 13 triumphs over Nice's nine in their history.

Last season, en route to winning the title, PSG grabbed 3-1 and 1-0 wins over Nice to earn a convincing double in Ligue 1 over Claude Puel's side.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who recently spent a spell on the sidelines with a heel injury, has struggled to find form in front of goal in the league since August.

However, the Sweden international was on target against Ajax and could continue his run at the weekend, while Dario Civitanich is likely to lead the line for Nice.
