Preview: Paris Saint-Germain vs. Bordeaux

Sports Mole looks ahead to this Saturday's Ligue 1 encounter between second- and third-placed teams Paris Saint-Germain and Bordeaux.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bordeaux head into this Saturday's Ligue 1 encounter on level points, with both sides the closest challengers to current league leaders Marseille.

Laurent Blanc's side are unbeaten so far in the league this season, but they are yet to get into their stride as they reside seven points adrift of Marseille after 10 games.

Despite avoiding a blemish on their league record so far, PSG have won just four of their 10 fixtures and have found the back of the net 18 times, with Edinson Cavani scoring four.

The Argentina international is expected to continue leading the way this weekend in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who remains on the treatment table.

PSG head into the match on the back of a slender 1-0 win over APOEL in the Champions League on Tuesday, with Cavani rescuing his side a point.

Bordeaux, who currently sit third in the table, started the league strongly with three straight victories, but have experienced an inconsistent run, which includes two defeats on the road.

Willy Sagnol's side have not won a game in Ligue 1 since September 28 when they sealed a late 2-1 triumph over Rennes on home turf.

Thiago Silva and David Luiz are expected to resume in defence for the home side, while Nicolas Maurice-Belay and Diego Rolan are likely to provide the attacking threat for Bordeaux.

In the last five meetings between the two sides, Bordeaux have not won one fixture.
