Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore believes that the club can challenge for major honours with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm.

The Italian took charge in December following the departure of Antoine Kombouare, who had steered Les Parisiens to first in Ligue 1.

Pastore, who has scored seven goals in 20 appearances so far this season, has now said that the team have something they did not have under the previous manager.

"Carlo is a big name manager with lots of experience and was a big change from the previous manager," the 22-year-old told CNN.

"Tactically, he does things differently since he has been in other countries. He knows a lot about how they play in each league and that definitely gives us something we didn't have before."

The Argentine international signed for PSG in a £33 million deal from Italian side Palermo last summer.
