Outgoing Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo insists that Edinson Cavani can play alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Outgoing Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has declared that the French giants have the best collection of attacking players in world football.

Leonardo helped coordinate the arrival of Edinson Cavani in Paris from Napoli this summer, adding to a strikeforce led last season by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Brazilian has declared that the forward options at coach Laurent Blanc's disposal are unmatched and admits that a 13-month suspension for pushing an official forced his exit from the club.

He told L'Equipe: "Having the top scorer in Serie A, Cavani, and the top scorer in Ligue 1, Ibrahimovic, in the same team is amazing. I think Cavani and Ibrahimovic are actually very complementary.

"It was my idea to bring them together in Paris, and I had to work very hard to make it happen. Especially when you add them around players like Lucas Moura, Javier Pastore, Jeremy Menez and Ezequiel Lavezzi. PSG have the best attack in the world with these six players.

"I find it (the ban) unfair. It was impossible to continue to do my job at Paris because the suspension does not allow me to do it 100%. I was primarily responsible for the PSG project, I was very involved with the players, coaches. But it all became too complicated with this suspension."

Blanc's side begin the defence of their Ligue 1 title on Friday night with a trip to Montpellier.
