Half-Time Report: Zlatan Ibrahimovic hands Paris Saint-Germain lead

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scores from the penalty spot to give Paris Saint-Germain a 1-0 lead over Lorient.

A penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimovic inside the opening five minutes has given Paris Saint-Germain a 1-0 lead over Lorient in their Ligue 1 clash this evening.

The home side needed just a couple of minutes to be handed a chance to break the deadlock as Benjamin Lecomte tripped Ibrahimovic in the box, leaving the Swedish international to fire the ball in from the penalty spot.

Didier Ndong could have drawn the scores level inside the opening 10 minutes when Walid Mesloub played the ball through for him, but his driven effort from outside the box was saved.

The defending champions continued to look the more likely though, with Ezequiel Lavezzi and Ibrahimovic forcing saves from Lecomte.

Maxime Barthelme tried his luck with a long-range effort shortly before the break as the visitors continued to look for a way to level the scores, but his powerful strike was blocked.
