Paris Saint-Germain see off Caen to reach Coupe de France final

Paris Saint-Germain will face third-tier Les Herbiers in the Coupe de France final thanks to a 3-1 semi-final win at Caen on Wednesday night.

Paris Saint-Germain have progressed to the Coupe de France final thanks to a 3-1 win against Caen in Wednesday night's semi-final at the Stade Michel d'Ornano.

The first effort of the game came the way of the hosts, Vincent Bessat firing straight into the arms of Kevin Trapp from distance on four minutes.

PSG went on to take control of proceedings, however, creating numerous chances before breaking the deadlock on 25 minutes.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for the visitors, pouncing on Edinson Cavani's mishit effort to tap home.

However, Caen were level on the stroke of half time as Ismael Diomande took a pot shot from outside the box, which took a huge deflection off Adrien Rabiot en route to the back of the net.

PSG thought that they had pulled ahead shortly after the restart through Cavani, but VAR disallowed the goal after deeming Angel Di Maria to be offside in the build-up.

Nonetheless, Unai Emery's charges managed to strike a winner, Di Maria and Cavani combining to set up Mbappe for a cool finish beyond the reach of Brice Samba.

The evening would get worse for Caen, who finished the game with 10 men as Diomande saw red for a two-footed tackle on Javier Pastore.

In injury time, substitute Christopher Nkunku added a third for the visitors to seal their passage to the final for the fourth consecutive season, where they will meet third-tier Les Herbiers.
