Report: Andy Awford sacked by Portsmouth

Andy Awford loses his job as manager of League Two side Portsmouth, according to a report.

Portsmouth have reportedly sacked manager Andy Awford following Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Morecambe.

It is thought that the 42-year-old has lost his job at Fratton Park following a run of two wins from the last nine games.

Pompey's recent form means that they sit 14th in League Two, with 11 points separating them from a playoff place with four matches left to play.

According to Sky Sports News, Awford has been dismissed now that Portsmouth's chances of finishing in the top seven look unlikely.

Gary Waddock will reportedly take charge for Tuesday night's game at Stevenage.
