Maurizio Zamparini looking to sell Palermo

Maurizio Zamparini reveals his intention to sell Palermo over the next fortnight.

Palermo owner Maurizio Zamparini has put the Serie A club up for sale and has revealed that he hopes to relinquish control of the Sicilian outfit before June 9.

Zamparini recently oversaw the sale of star striker Paulo Dybala to Champions League finalists Juventus.

However, according to the Palermo supremo, that could be one of his last acts in charge of the Italian team.

He told Live Sicilia Sport: "At my age I do not plan for the future, all I want to do now is leave Palermo and I've put them on the market.

"I got tired of the bureaucracy, I do not wish to be the president of the club any longer, on June 9 it is my 74th birthday and by then I wish to have sold the club.

"I will charge an agency with finding a new owner from Italy or across the world and I'll gladly step aside."

Palermo finished 11th in Serie A after beating Roma 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico on the final day of the season.
