Oldham Athletic striker Adam Rooney will undergo a foot scan this week to determine whether he has chipped a bone.

Oldham Athletic boss Lee Johnson is reportedly fearful that striker Adam Rooney has chipped a bone in his foot.

The 25-year-old, who joined the club from Birmingham City in the summer, has scored four times in 15 appearances this season.

However, it is understood that the former Stoke City forward could be out of action until 2014 after picking up a foot injury in training at the start of this week.

Rooney, who will undergo a scan this week, spent last season on loan at Swindon Town.
