Notts County have signed former Huddersfield Town forward James Spencer on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old was released by the Terriers prior to last week's transfer deadline, having made just two first-team appearances for the Yorkshire club.

Spencer will wear the number 16 shirt during his spell at Meadow Lane.

He is likely to make his debut for the Magpies in Saturday's League One clash with Coventry City.
