Norwich City reportedly register an interest in signing Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan during the January transfer window.

Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan has reportedly attracted interest from Norwich City.

Whelan has featured regularly for the Potters during the first half of the campaign, making 20 appearances in all competitions.

However, according to the Stoke Sentinel, Stoke boss Mark Hughes is targeting another midfielder before the end of the month, which could put Whelan's future in doubt.

Norwich manager Chris Hughton is keen to strengthen his side over the next seven days, and he could be ready to make a move for the Republic of Ireland international should he be allowed to leave the Britannia Stadium.
