Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert reveals that former club Norwich City are suing him over his departure.

Former Norwich City boss Paul Lambert has revealed that the club are suing him over his departure.

Norwich chairman Alan Bowkett hit out at Lambert during a fans' forum last night, claiming that the 43-year-old was suing the club for around £2m.

Lambert, who left the Canaries for Aston Villa this summer, announced his disappointment at Bowkett's comments as well as pointing out that he had failed to mention that the club was also suing him.

"I'm disappointed what senior officials at Norwich have said in relation to myself. What Norwich haven't stated publicly is that they are actually suing me," said Lambert.

"I'll let him say what he has got to say and we'll see what happens. It is before the Premier League managers' tribunal at which the LMA (League Managers Association) are acting on my behalf.

"That's the way it is at the moment and it is inappropriate for me to comment anymore and be disrespectful to the tribunal. I don't know when it is going to happen. I'm too busy trying to win games to worry."

Lambert guided Norwich to two successive promotions while in charge of the club, leading them from League One to the Premier League.
