Jonny Howson relieved to get back to winning ways

Jonny Howson expresses his relief at ending Norwich City's six-match run without victory with the winner against Swansea City at Carrow Road.

Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson has admitted that it was a relief to see his side get back to winning ways against Swansea City and has suggested that they have not been getting the results that they deserve.

Howson struck the game's only goal 20 minutes from time as the Canaries beat the Swans 1-0 at Carrow Road to end a six-match winless run on Saturday.

The 27-year-old highlighted the East Anglia club's habit of conceding first as the reason that their recent performances have not been rewarded with results, and said that to finally secure another three points was very pleasing.

"We have had a few bad results over the past few weeks, but our performances have not been too bad," he told Sky Sports News. "We said before this match that we needed something from the game.

"Swansea are very good in possession and you have to respect your opposition at this level. The goal gave us all a lift. Over the past few games we have conceded first, which at this level is hard to come back from. So the goal gave us a platform from which to hold on.

"After a few defeats, these wins count. We kept a clean sheet, having conceded a few sloppy goals this season from set pieces. So this result is very pleasing."

The victory has lifted the promoted side up to 15th in the Premier League table.
