Michael Babatunde ruled out with broken arm

Nigeria midfielder Michael Babatunde will miss the rest of the tournament after breaking his arm in their defeat to Argentina.

Michael Babatunde has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup after a shot from one of his Nigeria teammates broke his arm.

The midfielder was forced off during the Super Eagles' 3-2 defeat to Argentina when he accidentally blocked a powerful strike from Ogenyi Onazi.

The News Nigeria confirmed that the 22-year-old had a scan after the match which revealed the injury, ending his involvement in the Brazil tournament.

Nigeria finished second in Group F, setting up a last-16 tie with France next week.
