Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has revealed that Newcastle United forward Shola Ameobi is once again available for international selection by the Super Eagles.
The 31-year-old was not able to compete at this year's Africa Cup of Nations due to a clause in his club contract. However, Keshi claims that this clause has now been removed.
"He's been dealing with this for a while and I'm happy it has been removed," Keshi told reporters. "Just as we were giving up on him, he called to give us the good news."
Ameobi has only made one senior appearance for Nigeria to date. It came in a 3-1 friendly win over Venezuela in Miami in November 2012.
